What procedures do I need to follow to study in Japan?.png

Studying in Japan can be roughly divided into three procedures: "admission procedure", "application for issuance of status of residence certificate", and "application procedure at the embassy of your home country".

1. Admission procedure

In order to study in Japan, first and foremost, you must obtain admission from the school you want to enroll in. The procedure differs depending on the school, but get an "admission permit *" issued based on the results of document screening, admission screening, interview exams, etc.

2. Application procedure for issuance of CERTIFICATE OF ELIGIBILITY (COE)

Once you are admitted by the school, you need to get permission to study abroad from the Immigration Bureau of Japan. That is the "Application for Certificate of Eligibility (COE)" prepared through SpeedVisa this time.

All documents must be prepared 4 months before enrollment, and if you do not make it in time, you will have to postpone your study abroad to the next semester.

If the purpose of studying abroad is unclear or if the information you submit is doubtful, you may be disapproved, so be sure to fill in accurate information.

3. Application procedure at the embassy of your home country

If the COE is approved, this is the final procedure. Get a "visa" at the Japanese embassy or consulate in your home country.

A visa is like a nomination certificate from a local embassy that proves that you can study abroad in Japan. In some cases, an oral interview test is conducted to check whether you can live without problems after coming to Japan.
